We are delighted that England’s newest No 15, George Furbank, will be joining us for the inaugural Huntingdonshire Sporting Dinner on Thursday 23rd April. George, who plays for Northampton Saints, started his rugby career at Huntingdon & District RFC and regularly returns to the club to recognise his rugby roots.
Having had spells at Cambridge in National Division One and Nottingham in the Championship, George has made the full back jersey at Saints his own, and after two baptisms of fire (or more accurately wind and rain) at Stade de France and Murrayfield in his first two test matches, he will tell us of his rise from grassroots rugby to international success.
George, a Saint, on St George’s Day. Sounds perfect.
Tables of ten are available at £650 each, to include a three course meal including coffee, plus a Q&A session with George Furbank. There will also be a Raffle and Silent Auction, as we look to raise money for our charity partner for this event, Scotty’s Little Soldiers. SLS look after the bereaved children of fallen service men and women, and are based in Kings Lynn, although operating throughout the UK.
